Fulham vs Manchester United

Fulham vs Manchester United
Sunday | 22 August 2010 | KO:16:00 | Carven Cottage

Manchester United go to Fulham in the English Premier League on Sunday and although they have left empty handed on their two most recent visits to Craven Cottage, it could be different this time around.

Fulham started their campaign with a useful enough point away at Bolton on the opening weekend. By all accounts the 0-0 draw was a pretty dull affair and Mark Hughes has seemingly missed out on his main transfer target, Craig Bellamy. The future of goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer also remains unclear with aArsenal reportedly hovering and reserve keeper David Stockdale performed with credit between the sticks at Bolton.

Manchester United were quick out of the traps at home to Newcastle (3-0) on Monday evening and although they were overwhelming favourites to win the game hey looked very impressive in how they went about the task. The form and fitness of Rooney is still some way below what he is capable of as United look to nurse him back to his best. United obliged on the goal handicap last week and last seasons results show they won 8 matches by 2 goals away from home.

The head to heads make interesting reading as United have lost on their last 2 visits to Craven Cottage. A 3-0 defeat here last season and a 2-0 reverse the season before will give Fulham plenty of encouragement they can turn over United over but United have won 10 of the last 12 league and cup meetings between the sides.

Prediction : Fulham 0 - 3 United
